It’s Friday night and I’m web surfing

Is that sad? I could be doing 20 other things, but instead I’m checking out links. At least they’re environmentally friendly.

The first one comes from a couple in North Carolina that were attending the same conference I was. It turns out they’re trying something novel and (hopefully) pretty darn insightful. They’re tracking their waste for a month. Everything they throw out gets it’s picture taken. What a great way to pay attention to your waste! You can check out 30 Day Waste and maybe get the inspiration you need to tackle your own wasteful habits.

The next link is a fun one that I’ve probably spent an hour on so far. Recycleart.org is more up-cycling than re-cycling, in that it features projects made from “trash” that become something so much cooler. The projects range from candleholders and jewelry to houses, and everything in between. As I look through the examples on the screen I’m doing a mental inventory of all of the junk in my garage, imagining what can be done with the stuff out there.

Coming up next (hopefully): I’ll review my visit to Buffalo Reuse yesterday. I took a bunch of pictures of their store, the ReSource.
